Watch a New Fireworks Show Light Up the Night
In 1998, Disney Cruise Line made history as the first cruise line ever to produce a fireworks show at sea! In the 25 years since, fireworks have remained a quintessential part of the Disney Cruise Line experience, inspiring core memories for generations of dreamers.
Today, we are thrilled to share that the night sky will shine even brighter this summer as a shimmering new fireworks display premieres on select “Silver Anniversary at Sea” itineraries!
Created in honor of Disney Cruise Line’s 25th anniversary, the limited-time evening extravaganza will uphold the cherished Disney tradition of fireworks and honor Disney’s continuing legacy of adventure. The dazzling spectacle will be set to the tunes of iconic and beloved Disney music, and anchoring the show will be a brand-new signature song created especially for the “Silver Anniversary at Sea.”
The 25th anniversary fireworks show will be featured on most Bahamian, Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises this summer.
Say “Cheers” During a Shimmering Soiree
A captain’s reception is a well-known cruising tradition that has been enjoyed by Disney Cruise Line guests since the very beginning. In honor of our “Silver Anniversary at Sea,” we are reimagining this time-honored event into a one-of-a-kind celebratory experience, adding an extra dose of magic to sailings this summer.
On one evening each cruise, guests will be invited to join their ship’s captain and cruise director in the atrium for an anniversary toast. The festive affair will feature appearances from Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse — dressed for the occasion in their shimmering new looks, of course! — and a delightful rendition of the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” theme song.
Celebrate with A Limited-Edition Castaway Club Gift
If you’ve sailed with Disney Cruise Line before, you can be part of the best club on the high seas – the Castaway Club, which recognizes returning Disney Cruise Line guests with exclusive rewards and perks.
We’re excited to announce that all Castaway Club members who sail during the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” this summer will receive a limited-edition framed art print in their stateroom to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime celebration until supplies last. As shown above, this design was created by Disney artist Joe Kaminski, whose work is featured in The Art of Disney galleries, Disney resort hotels and Disney Cruise Line ships. All 3-night Silver Anniversary at Sea Bahamian Cruises on the Disney Wish WILL NOT include the 25th anniversary fireworks, which unfortunately means you will not experience this on your June sailing. These itineraries WILL include Pirate Night, a beloved Disney Cruise Line tradition.
All 4-night Silver Anniversary at Sea Bahamian Cruises on the Disney Magic WILL include the 25th anniversary fireworks, which aligns with Formal Night. These sailings also include the traditional Pirate Night so you can experience a rare two nights of fireworks at sea! Please know that entertainment is always subject to change.
All Silver Anniversary at Sea sailings this summer, on all ships, WILL include the new Shimmering Seas Soiree (regardless of whether you have the commemorative fireworks or not).
The Shimmering Seas Soiree is a reimagined Captain's Reception, where our host and special friends will offer a toast with Guests to honor this special milestone together. Be sure to check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you switch to “onboard mode” in the port terminal to confirm the exact time of this reception to be held in the Atrium on all ships.

25th Disney Cruise Line Cupcake features a decadent vanilla sponge cake topped with vanilla frosting, 25th chocolate décor, and shimmering sprinkles. It’s not just beautiful but delicious too! You can order the cupcake through amenities on the ship. No price is listed, but other cupcakes available through amenities are $9.50.
Mickey Chocolate Sphere. This sweet treat showcases a chocolate Mickey Mouse sphere adorned with the 25th emblem and is filled with a variety of candy pieces. Crack it open and treat yourself.
Two desserts will get a Silver Anniversary at Sea upgrade at Cabana’s and Marceline’s Market locations. The 3 Layer Carrot Cake with lemon frosting will be adding 25thchocolate décor and the Disney Cruise Line Anniversary Chocolate Marquise will feature rich chocolate truffle crème topped with the 25th chocolate décor as well!

Cove Café
Captain Minnie Vanilla Crisped Rice Treat at all Cove Café locations. This vanilla-flavored crisped rice treat puts Minnie at the helm with special décor for her and the anniversary.
Palo
At Palo, the classic Chocolate Soufflé with double chocolate sauce, vanilla crème anglaise, and vanilla bean gelato will also have a chocolate 25th-anniversary piece for you to enjoy!
Jubilee by the Sea
Cocktail combines 818 Blanco Tequila, Luxardo Maraschino, and lemon juice. It has a sparkly, silver dusting and a shimmering blue sugar rim, representing the colors of the Silver Anniversary at Sea.
Jubilee by the Sea comes with a recipe bookmark, which makes for a nice souvenir or scrapbooking material.
An even nicer souvenir is the pleather coasters being used on Silver Anniversary at Sea voyages. These teal blue coasters are debossed with the silver 25th anniversary logo and Disney Cruise Line logo.

Summer Sailings Offer Celebratory Surprises
The “Silver Anniversary at Sea” celebration will be featured on summer cruises aboard all five Disney Cruise Line ships. Guests will encounter new entertainment, limited-time enhancements, eye-catching decor, whimsical merchandise and other delightful surprises, all imbued with the magical spirit of this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Captain Minnie Mouse and Captain Mickey Mouse will don dazzling new ensembles to mark the occasion. Their coordinated looks will feature shimmering, multi-toned fabric and swirling designs reminiscent of ocean waves. The iconic duo will make appearances in their festive attire exclusively aboard “Silver Anniversary at Sea” sailings across the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
Disney Cruise Line will debut a signature song to serve as the soundtrack of the celebration, tunefully threading nostalgic memories of vacations past with the of anticipation of new family adventures to come. The uplifting new melody will manifest in a variety of ways during summer sailings.
New family entertainment and activities will culminate in shimmering evening experiences created exclusively for the anniversary celebration.
Throughout their voyage, guests will discover themed culinary creations, from fanciful desserts to inspired craft cocktails and beyond.
Guests can commemorate Disney Cruise Line’s “Silver Anniversary at Sea” with the Shimmering Seas Collection, a line of dedicated merchandise featuring a new signature color. Inspired by the magical glow of sunshine reflecting upon turquoise waters, the Shimmering Seas Collection will include an assortment of apparel, accessories, drinkware, keepsakes and more.

Castaway Club Introduces a New Membership Tier
The anniversary of Disney Cruise Line also heralds the unveiling of a brand-new membership tier for Castaway Club, which recognizes returning Disney Cruise Line guests with exclusive rewards and perks. Honoring 25 years of Disney magic at sea, members will now earn the distinction of Pearl status after 25 Disney Cruise Line vacations. As the line’s biggest fans, Pearl members will unlock new at-home and onboard benefits, which will be announced in early 2023.
Enchantment-filled Voyages Sail to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Europe and Alaska
Cruises featuring the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” celebration will sail to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Europe and Alaska during the summer of 2023.
Departing from Miami May 24 to Sept. 4, the Disney Magic will visit destinations in the Bahamas and Caribbean, including Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
The Disney Wonder will depart on Alaskan voyages from Vancouver, Canada May 15 to Sept. 11 with stops in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and more.
From May 7 to Sept. 17, the Disney Dream will sail transatlantic and European itineraries, including the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Greek Isles.
The Disney Fantasy will set sail from Port Canaveral, Florida May 6 to Sept. 2 to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, each with a day at Castaway Cay.
Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish, will depart on sailings to Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay May 1 to Sept. 8 from Port Canaveral.

Disney Eats: First Look at ‘Shimmering’ Disney Cruise Line 25th Anniversary Treats
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Disney Cruise Line and, to celebrate, the entire fleet will be welcoming aboard a variety of delicious eats and sips inspired by the shimmering seas. I’m thrilled to share with you a first look at what tasty options you’ll have to sea to believe.
As the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” draws near, the talented pastry chefs and mixologists have been hard at work creating items sure to make a splash, because what better way to celebrate than with flavor?
Let’s jump in and take a peek at all the shimmering sweets, sips, and novelties setting sail this summer from May through September!
First up, we’re exploring the treats that will be available. The 25th Disney Cruise Line Cupcake features a decadent vanilla sponge cake topped with vanilla frosting, 25th chocolate décor, and, of course, shimmering sprinkles. It’s not just beautiful but delicious too! This sweet selection will be available via amenities on the ship.
If you love chocolate and candy, you’re in luck because there’s a special item specifically crafted for the sweet tooths out there at all the sweet shops on each of the ships – the Mickey Chocolate Sphere. You’ll even get to bring home a special bookmark featuring how to make this tasty cocktail at home.

While your favorite characters will don outfits that feature swirling designs reminiscent of ocean waves and multi-toned fabric, you can get in the action with your own shimmering ensemble. Also in honor of our “Silver Anniversary at Sea,” we are reimagining the time-honored tradition of a Captain’s Reception into the Shimmering Seas Soiree, a regal gathering with all the pomp and circumstance this milestone deserves. On one evening each cruise, guests will be invited to join their ship’s captain, cruise director and some favorite Disney friends in the atrium for a festive anniversary toast.
Shimmering Touches
Throughout the 25th anniversary celebration, you will notice shimmering touches across all five ships, as well as special décor in Disney Cruise Line terminals and a limited-time look for Key to the World cards. On board, shimmering blue accents will adorn each ship’s atrium, while a special anniversary icon will provide the picture-perfect backdrop for a commemorative photo.
Speaking of picture-perfect, the celebratory season isn’t limited to just the high seas! Castaway Cay, Disney Cruise Line’s private island in The Bahamas, is also celebrating 25 years and will be decked out with anniversary decorations, along with a special surprise shimmering makeover to Mount Rustmore, a guest-favorite photo spot.
Themed Merchandise
The Shimmering Seas collection features light blue colorways and sparkling fabrics that are reminiscent of sunshine reflecting upon turquoise waters, along with festive silver accents. Shimmering accessories include a new Loungefly backpack and ear headband, new clothing pieces – including a spirit jersey and embroidered Nike polo – and a new line of commemorative jewelry. You can also plan to save a little room in your suitcase for other limited-time gifts, including a “Silver Anniversary at Sea” ornament, trading pin and collectible ship replica.
All-New Castaway Club Tier
For nearly two-and-a-half decades, members of the Castaway Club have played an integral role in the Disney Cruise Line story. To honor this special anniversary, a new membership tier named “Pearl” was added to honor the valued relationship we have formed with guests over the years and is inspired by the time it takes for a pearl to be formed in nature. With the launch of Pearl today, cruisers who have sailed on at least 25 Disney Cruise Line vacations will have access to more rewards and perks than ever before, including unlimited digital downloads from Disney Cruise Line professional photographers, an early booking window for new itineraries, the ability to schedule on board activities before anyone else, a special gift (one per stateroom) and complimentary dinner at Palo.
Castaway Club Gift
If you’re still working your way toward the Pearl Castaway Club tier, don’t worry – we still have a special gift for you! Castaway Club members who sail during the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” this summer will receive a limited-edition framed art print (one per stateroom) to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime celebration while supplies last.
