It’s a Small World Nursery

• In the It’s a Small World Nursery, infants and toddlers up to age 3 enter a whimsical world inspired by the classic Disney theme park attraction and original artwork by Disney Legend Mary Blair. The theme’s signature fanciful style in a patchwork of pastel colors creates an inviting and comforting space for little ones.

• Upon entering the nursery, parents and children can meet and interact with counselors in a welcoming environment. Parents wishing to check on their children, without disturbing them, can glimpse into the nursery’s main play area through a one-way window.

• In the nursery’s main play area, children are welcomed by cheerful, three-dimensional façades resembling the nursery’s namesake Disney attraction. Interactive, hands-on features, such as horns that honk, wheels that spin and buttons to press, are sure to delight curious kids. A boat in the center of the room “floats” on a river pattern along the soft-surface floor and is surrounded by colorful, kid-sized tables and chairs for toddlers to enjoy crafts, books and games.

• At the back of the nursery, a separate room with a serene motif and a calm, quiet atmosphere is reserved for naptime.

• Another idea is to book 9 - 11 pm to enjoy the hot tube or adult entertainment

Notes from Sailing With An Infant

• 6 month to 3 year olds

  • 1 year old for south pacific, Hawaii, transatlantic and panama canal cruises

• $4.50 per 30 minutes

  • Decreases to $4 with additional kids

• Booking is based on Castaway Club level and max is 10 hours at first

  • Once on the ship go immediately to the nursery or guest services to add more hours

• Can book a reservation on a port/excursion day and even Castaway Cay

• Typical open hours are 8 am to midnight

• Busiest times seem to be during dinner, shows

• Child can sleep during the reservation and if your time is up the child can continue to sleep if the nursery is not booked up (there are reports from parents that the staff will not wake the child also)

• Bring your own wipes and diapers

• If you want the staff can provide, juice, milk, water, yogurt, fruit and animal crackers

• First time checking in there is a lot of paperwork to discuss nap time, what can eat and when, etc. so make sure to give yourself some extra time

  • Can bring pre-packaged sealed foods, utensils,

• Formula (dry or can) or breast milk can be brought

• What they can do for infant at rotational dining

  • First night they will puree anything on the menu

  • Pick a vegetable to try but if there is something you know they like, each night from then on they will have it pureed for them

• Theming

  • The four original ships are themed from the It’s a small world ride Mary Blair

  • On the Wish has other Disney IP but themed in a Mary Blair (Marvel, Peter Pan, etc.)

• What do you do on board with an infant

  • Splash pads (Toy Story or Nemo themed) can have pool diapers and cannot use pools

  • Hang out in the atrium

  • Sleep in the stroller and watch movies in the shade

• Magic and Wonder have a slide in the Toy Story area in the Oceaneer’s Club for during open house hours

• Wish has Captain Mickey and Minnie has great toddler and infant items

• Jack Jack’s Incredible Diaper Dash

  • The crew roll out a race track typically in the atrium and on the Wish it is in Hero Zone

  • About 50 – 150 people watch

  • Light effects and interview the parents before it starts

  • Little one goes from one end to the other
